Submitting Datasets for Review

Once a dataset is published, all its data files become publicly searchable, viewable, and accessible. Unpublishing a published dataset is not recommended. Therefore, you should consider the following before publishing your dataset:

Before Submission

Things to consider before submitting your dataset for review:

  1. The depositor has obtained the copyright permissions to make the data available on Lingnan Data Repository
  2. All collaborators and relevant parties have agreed to sharing data publicly via Lingnan Data Repository
  3. The dataset has never been published on any data repositories or platforms before
  4. The necessary access restriction or embargo is imposed (if necessary)

Ready for Submission

All data submitted to Lingnan Data Repository will be reviewed by the repository administrators before being made available to the public. When your dataset is ready to go, please follow the steps below to submit it for review:

  1. Enter the dataset record and click "Submit for Review"
  2. Make sure the license/data use agreement is correct and click "Submit"
  3. Once the dataset is submitted for review, it will be tagged as "In Review" and no changes can be made to it during this period

  1. When the dataset is published, the depositor will be notified by email.
  2. If the submission is not approved, the depositor will be notified that they need to make modifications before resubmitting it.
  3. If you "submit" your dataset by mistake, please contact us for assistance.
