ORCID iD Connection via Lingnan Scholars

Steps:

1. Login your Lingnan Scholars research profile with your Lingnan credentials:
https://scholars.ln.edu.hk/admin/workspace.xhtml

Suggested browser: Google Chrome. Try using an incognito window if you encounter any problems with the login.

 

2. Click “Authenticate your ORCID ID”

 

3. Read the note in the pop up window, click “Proceed”

 

4. Click “Sign in” and then input your email/ORCID iD and password for your ORCID record.

[Use your ORCID iD and password; DO NOT use your Lingnan credentials.]

 

5. Click “Authorize access”

 

6. Click “Save” before closing the window.

 

To activate data synchronization:

7. Click “Edit profile” and open your profile window again.

 

8. Click “Export” under the ORCID section to activate the synchronization of Lingnan Scholars and ORCID. Click “Save” again before closing the window.

If you see no "Export" button in there, try repeat step 2-6 again.

 

 

 

9. Check your ORCID record and Lingnan Scholars Profile after integration. Your validated research output records will be exported to your ORCID record:

1. Immediately when you have completed your Lingnan Scholars and ORCID integration (by clicking the “Export” button)
2. Will be automatically exported from Lingnan Scholars to ORCID on a daily basis
3. You may trigger the data export at any time by clicking the “Export” button
   Note: Records in ORCID cannot be exported into Lingnan Scholars

 

10. Things to check after integration:

1. In your Lingnan Scholars profile: An ORCID iD linking to your ORCID record
   
2. In your ORCID record: A Lingnan Scholars URL pointing to your Lingnan Scholars profile
3. In your ORCID record: Validated research records in Lingnan Scholars (if any) have been imported as indicated by the “Source”
   
4. In your ORCID record: Employment details in Lingnan Scholars have been imported, source indicated as "Lingnan University" [Click HERE to learn more about the employment data.]
   The integration will not overwrite your manually inputted data (source: your own name) in your ORCID record.
